JOHANNESBURG – The first conviction for bribery and corruption at South African Airways has been secured, not in South Africa but in a United States court. 
US citizen Julian Aires has been convicted of bribing SAA procurement officials. 
The slow prosecution of State Capture corruption cases in South Africa has raised questions about the government’s seriousness in implementing Zondo Commission recommendations.
